Philosophy

In the following Iwan tries to collect the main impressions and ideologies that affected him by becoming exactly that Iwan which he is now.

Iwan’s Mind-Forming Impressions

Lifelong Art  &  self-documentation
Let me share some philosophy cocktail that helps to be pro at Life.

“In essence, true success is the journey
and not the goal.” (unknown author)

“The highest reward for man’s toil is not what he gets for it,
but what he becomes by it.” (John Ruskin)

Getting ourselves known as much as we can – should be – a natural demand for everyone. Exploring Life and opportunities around us, to take out the most of us should be taught in every school ..and everywhere else..

We doing decisions, movements, results all the time, and there are actions, that we make only once in a lifetime. There are things, we repeat continually, in a loop circle, which only ends at the very End of our Life (eating, sleeping, talking, feeling, loving, etc). Some of our tasks are axiomatic, such as going to toilet, when we need to, or writing down information that we don’t want to forget. Other (more complex) tasks require more brainstorming, harder decisions.

By tracking some of his activities for long years, iwan is seeking for a better understanding about not only himself, but the functioning of humankind. Iwan believes that experiencing is different from only reading about the things..

Iwan is impressed by the fact, how large amount of actions we do through a Lifetime. Even more how many are unnecessary or insincere might be of them. The classical ones, watching TV instead of living our real Life, and so on. By looking at the big number of biological actions we do, such as sneezing, yawning, dousing, urinating, sexual intercoursing, thinking, calculating, contemplating.. Have we wondered about how much our ‘operation’ cost through an entire Lifetime? Maintain ourselves, to keep ourselves prepared, ready for those moments, which happens only once, twice, few times in our Life, the really special, exclusive ‘peak’ moments. Standing on the top of the hill, on top of the Maslow Pyramid. Let’s admit, that general human life is quite uneconomical, in other words: sometimes we have to eat, drink tenths, hundred kilograms/pounds of food between two really remarkable, special moment of our Life. We go to toilet dozen, hundred or thousand- (or some of us maybe ten-thousand 😉 times between two memorable, unique moment of our Life.

So the COST PER SPECIAL MOMENT (CPSM), the COST OF QUALITY TIME (COQT) can be extremely high!

I try to Do my Life by keeping this fact in my mind all the time. It may help. Try it! If once we get aware of the expensiveness of our personal Life, we will feel that the number of our Special Moments start to increase tremendously.

The ability of converting the not so special things into Special

When Iwan started to make photographs of all the food and drink he consumes – in 2006 – he felt nothing special. But after a while, (1-2 months) things started to change in his relation towards food – so thus towards Life –  irrevocably changed, and improved. Simple food started to transform into treasure for him.  It’s value has multiplied, since  he had to work for it twice: first he has to earn money to buy it and then he had to take a photo of it all the time (not saying about the preparation of it, if it’s not already-made). Thus it slowly became a “strategy” to make Moments of his Life even more valuable, then he caught himself working more for them. And it works. Depends on our awareness of this issue.

Iwam’s opinion is, that in civilized-, consumption-based society people generally don’t “ask” important questions about their real identity, about their real(ly desired) goals. So, please mind this GAP!

The most responsive to change

Iwan’s special thanks to the great evolutionist and thinker, Charles Darwin, especially for his great quote which must be cited here to remind us the truth that Iwan keeps in mind every single day:

Being Water..

Thanks to Bruce Lee, whose approach of life, attitude and energy is also a significant daily source for Iwan to breed on. “Be Water My Friend..”. If you havn’t heard this legendary quote before, please take 25 seconds and watch it right here. Even far more proper if you can watch this longer and last interview with Bruce Lee, which is very useful source of improvement for all of us (in Iwan’s honest opinion).

Actually, ‘being water’ is closely matching with the idea of:

Be in The Present (take out the trash)

The Moment matters. Here and Now.

Which is the basic principle of the Tibetian Buddhism, for example, and many other religious variations and philosophies. “Who lives in the present, lives the wholest life”. Doing more than think. Or at least do what we once thought (as a good idea).. That is the goal, that is the objective. As an inspiration, please watch this short scene from the movie: “The Peaceful Warrior”. And keep it in mind, day by day. I hope it will help, ..i hope it’s good for all of us. (please immediately tell me in the comments, if not! )

Be In The Moment. Here and Now.

Actually..

ANY form of Self-Improvement

Inspires, thrills, motivates and amazes Iwan. Let it be his or others’ achievements. For many years back in time, the instance of self-improvement is one of the key-words that keeps the positive energy and vibes inside Iwan’s soul and mind. The vision of a “Better Self” on tomorrow morning. Yes we can say: “Hey, you are thinking about the future, this violates the ‘Be in Present‘ principle, Dude!”  Well, maybe, …but No. 🙂  Iwan believes that the Be In Present and Be a Better Self components can make a proper, powerful combo in our Mind-set cocktail!

And a few Others..

Iwan constantly tries to Live by celebrating and respecting all the happenings in Life (so, not only food;), and trying to stay as much open-minded as possible. Iwan learnt from Raghava KK indian artist, that we can “reborn” in one life multiple times. Learnt a lot from Gary Vaynerchuck on only dealing with things which you really love (to do). With obsession. Learnt from many inspiring people that the best and only drug is FLOW (thanks, Mihály Csíkszentmihályi). Being opened to meet new people, new places (Couchsurfing), new skills, new ideas, ingenious thoughts (TED.com) to make the world a better place. Learnt from Francis of Assisi, Gandhi, Pope John Paul II, and some others, that not only the bad guys who rocks. Learnt from the native americans, the asian people, Andy Goldsworthy, Richard Long, that nature and work is deeply part of our Life, part of us. Learnt from Leonardo da Vinci and the renaissance, that a human being can deal with multiple disciplines / fields of life, especially in the XXI.century.

Thousands of people inspired Iwan already, and Iwan is so thankful towards them for all the passion and teachings.
